Chapter Overview
Surah Ar-Rum is the thirteenth chapter in the Class 9 Tarjama Tul Quran curriculum. The title of the Surah translates to "The Romans", referring to the historical prophecy in the opening verses predicting the victory of the Byzantine Empire (Romans) over the Sasanian Empire (Persians) within a few years after their defeat. It is a Makki Surah that addresses the themes of faith, the signs of Allah in nature, and the certainty of the Day of Judgment.
The Surah points out various natural phenomena—such as the creation of the heavens and earth, the diversity of human languages and colors, sleep, and rain—as clear proofs of Allah's power and wisdom.
